OREM — Bingham captured its first drill team state title since 2012 at the 6A state championships at UVU on Saturday, and in the process halted Copper Hills’ seven-year reign atop the state’s largest classification.

Bingham finished first in the military and dance categories, and fourth in character to secure the eighth state title in school history.

Herriman finished second in the team standings, followed by Layton in third.

“Competition at this level comes with a lot of pressure and intensity. These girls fought through challenges, injuries, sickness, and always kept going no matter what. So much blood, sweat and tears goes into every single day of practice when you’re striving to win. As their coach, I couldn’t be more proud of them for pushing to be better every day and never giving up. Watching them be unified as a team, overcome struggles and become stronger dancers and people was indescribable. Winning a state title was the cherry on top.”

Member’s of Bingham’s team are: Alyssa Absey, Ellie Andus, Cambree Bennett, Ashlee Briggs, Alex Cragun, Taylee Dastrup, Madi Finlayson, Faith Finsand, Jaden Graham, Kenzie Hawker, Sydney Hedman, Hallee Hodges, Olivia Hurd, Graci Lewis, Hallie Lowrance, Avree Mangum, Lyndsi Maynes, Halee Mecham, Emily Miller, Avery Morris, Ashlyn Park, Mckaela Parker, Morgan Philips, Brynlee Prince, Maddie Robinson, Issy Snow, Katie Soutas, Ellsie Tueller, Carly Vanwagenen, Denzyl Vigil, Halle West, Kaylee Whiting and Grace Woolley.
