1988 HOWARD HAUSKNECHT

Machine Shop, welding and auto mechanics teacher at Bingham High (1940-1962)

Director of Transportation at Bingham

Served in the US Army during World War I

Industrial Arts teacher and coach at Murray High (1923-1940)

Known as “the Boss” by the Bingham community

He stressed good organization, safety, cleanliness, neatness, strict discipline, fairness and practical knowledge of his subjects as the keys to his success

He taught by the slogan, “What you learn in school, no one can take away from you.  What you do not learn is what hurts.”

Under his leadership Bingham gained the reputation of having one of the finest vocational education facilities in the state
